Velvet and silk options

This page is designed to help you choose the right kind of fabric for your Star Jeweled Gown.

Velvet vs. silk

Crushed Velvet or silk? That's the big question. Both fabrics are available for most of our designs. To make your decision easier, we will give you the main characteristics for both of these fabrics.

Velvet

Silk

  • has a nice flow
  • looks ancient and magical due to depth and shine
  • looks like it belongs in a castle
  • is easy to clean and  take care of
  • doesn't crinkle
  • it's a bit heavier than silk, but is a thin high quality dress velvet and should not be too hot.
  • looks young and fresh
  • is very light and cool
  • has an innocent and pure look
  • would fit well into a beautiful flower garden
  • will crinkle a little bit if stored folded or if you sit down
  • has to be dry-cleaned by a qualified cleaner, it's harder to remove spots and stains during the wedding.

Velvet colors

Most of our gowns are made of off white velvet. But if you prefer a darker color it is possible to get it in an antique color or champagne. Please be aware that every monitor will change the colors. If you want to see samples of the fabrics, please contact us.
